Home & Garden Depot uses PayPal to host its shopping cart and to process payments.

Founded in 1998, PayPal, an eBay Company, enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online. PayPal's service builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards and utilizes the world's most advanced proprietary fraud prevention systems to create a safe, global, real-time payment solution.

PayPal has quickly become a global leader in online payment solutions with 100 million account members worldwide. Available in 103 countries and regions around the world, buyers and sellers on eBay, online retailers, online businesses, as well as traditional offline businesses are transacting with PayPal.

PayPal has received close to 20 awards for technical excellence from the internet industry and the business community at large -- most recently the 2003 Webby Award for Best Finance Site and the 2003 Webby People's Voice Award for Best Finance Site.

PayPal allows you to pay using your credit card, debit card, or bank account.  Payments are made immediately, quicker than sending checks or money orders.  In addition, your payments are secure, as only PayPal has your credit card number and other financial information, not us.

HOW IT WORKS...

  1. Your sensitive financial information is securely stored only on PayPal's servers.
  2. When you use PayPal to pay online, you provide only your PayPal email address.
  3. We receive payment from PayPal without ever seeing your financial information.

Information is automatically sent with a high level of data encryption.  When registering or logging in to PayPal to make a payment, they verify that your internet browser is running Secure Sockets Layer 3.0 (SSL) or higher.  The financial information and log in is protected by SSL with an encryption key length of 128 bits, the highest level commercially available.  (To be sure you have the best available security, be sure you are using the latest version of today's most popular browsers, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.)

To help safeguard you against identity theft, every PayPal payment is followed by an email confirming your transaction.

Finally, your personal information stored on PayPal servers that are heavily guarded, both physically and electronically. To further shield your credit card and bank numbers, PayPal does not directly connect its firewall-protected servers to the internet.
